Construction Manager
The Early Works Construction Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of early-stage construction activities for mission-critical data center projects. This role is responsible for preparing sites for full-scale construction, including enabling works such as utilities, grading, infrastructure readiness, and initial MEP installations. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in construction management, MEP systems, and contract/vendor coordination within large-scale, high-availability environments.Key ResponsibilitiesEarly Works Planning & ExecutionLead all early works construction activities, including site preparation, civil work, temporary utilities, and enabling infrastructureCollaborate with design, engineering, and preconstruction teams to ensure constructability and readiness for full project buildoutManage project schedules, ensuring early work milestones align with overall data center delivery timelinesSite Infrastructure & MEP CoordinationOversee installation and coordination of early-stage MEP infrastructure, including temporary power, underground utilities, and initial distribution systemsSupport future deployment of critical systems such as UPS, generators, and cooling systems by ensuring foundational readinessEnsure all work aligns with industry standards for scalability, redundancy, and reliabilityVendor & Contractor ManagementAct as the primary point of contact for general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors during early project phasesManage contracts, scope alignment, and vendor performance to meet cost, schedule, and quality expectationsDrive accountability for safety, execution, and deliverable timelinesQuality, Safety & ComplianceEnforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policiesEnsure all early works construction adheres to local codes, NEC, NFPA, and life safety standardsConduct inspections and implement quality assurance processesRisk & Issue ManagementIdentify and mitigate risks related to site readiness, permitting, utilities, and construction sequencingEscalate and resolve issues that may impact schedule, cost, or downstream construction activitiesDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, submittals, schedules, and progress reportsProvide regular updates to stakeholders with data-driven insights and status reportingRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong experience in construction project management, preferably in large-scale or mission-critical environmentsWorking knowledge of MEP systems, utilities, and infrastructure developmentExperience managing early works, site enablement, or preconstruction phasesProven ability in vendor and contract managementStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting data center construction projectsFamiliarity with hyperscale or enterprise data center standardsRetrofit or infrastructure conversion projectsKnowledge of telecom, fiber, and structured cabling infrastructureCore CompetenciesProject & Construction ManagementEarly Works / Site EnablementMEP CoordinationContract & Vendor ManagementJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Reno, NV.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
