IT Field Technician II – Lowe's SupportSpringfield, ILPay Rate: $18–$23/hourCompany Vehicle ProvidedOverviewWe are seeking a Field Service Technician II to provide hands-on IT support for a national home improvement retail client (Lowe's). This role involves traveling to multiple store locations to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain IT equipment while delivering excellent customer service.Key Responsibilities Provide onsite technical support for IT/data-related issues across retail locations Troubleshoot and resolve issues with POS systems, PCs, printers, thin clients, and network equipment Perform break-fix support, installations, and equipment replacements Support networking components including access points, switches, and cabling (copper/fiber) Document all work, updates, and resolutions in ticketing systems daily Manage triage and prioritize issues to meet SLA expectations Travel daily within a 50–125+ mile radius using a company-provided vehicle Work at heights (20–25 ft) when required (training provided) Communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical end users Required Qualifications 1+ year of IT technical support experience Valid driver's license (required) Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience with Windows OS (Mac/Linux is a plus) Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Preferred Qualifications CompTIA A+ certification Experience with: POS systems Printers and peripherals Network equipment (switches, Client) Copper and fiber cabling Understanding of AC/DC power and backup systems What We're Looking For Strong customer service and communication skills Self-starter with excellent time management Ability to work independently in the field Comfortable making in-field decisions to resolve issues Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
