Position SummaryThe UAS Technical Instructor is responsible for delivering hands-on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) training to students under 3Autonomy’s training programs, performing curriculum development, maintaining shop readiness, supporting flight operations, and performing hardware assembly tasks. This role combines technical expertise in UAS platforms with the ability to effectively instruct students of varying experience levels in both classroom and field environments.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Development and Instruction• Develop, refine, and document training curriculum and lesson plans• Deliver 5-day UAS training cohorts per established curriculum and schedule• Instruct students in UAS assembly, configuration, flight operations, and maintenance• Conduct pre-flight briefings, safety briefings, and post-flight debriefs• Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for all student flight operations under FAA Part 107Student Interactions, Assistance, and Evaluations• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback• Maintain training records and documentation for each student and cohort• Perform quality checks on student-built kits and assemblies• Assist students with troubleshooting and technical problem-solvingShop Organization and Maintenance• Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and 5S standards• Maintain tool inventory and equipment readiness• Operate and maintain 3D printers, CNC equipment, and soldering stations• Comply with all safety protocols and PPE requirementsOther• Coordinate with Managing Member on scheduling, logistics, and student issues• UAS Hardware Assembly and Integration• Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (current)• Demonstrated experience with UAS assembly, configuration, and flight operations• Proficiency with ArduPilot, PX4, and/or Betaflight flight stacks• Instructional or teaching experience• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditionsPreferred Qualifications• Associate’s degree or higher in UAS, aviation, or related technical field• Military veteran hiring preference• Experience with Mission Planner or QGroundControl• Familiarity with 3D printing, CNC machining, or PCB assemblyPhysical Requirements• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs• Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods
