Nurse Extern Ortho PRN

Mission Health, a leading comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Nurse Extern Ortho PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care on our orthopedic unit. The Nurse Extern Ortho PRN will assist with basic nursing care, including taking vital signs, monitoring patient status, assisting with activities of daily living, supporting post-operative orthopedic care, and accurately documenting care in the medical record. You will collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to promote optimal recovery, patient comfort, and a positive hospital experience. This PRN position is designed to help nursing students or recent graduates apply their academic preparation in a real-world clinical environment, build confidence and clinical judgment, and gain exposure to orthopedic and post-surgical care.
