Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineer Intern will support daily engineering activities within a window manufacturing environment. This role will focus on improving throughput and yield on window production lines while maintaining accurate, up-to-date manufacturing documentation. The intern will gain hands-on experience working directly with engineering, operations, and production teams to drive process improvements and standardization.Duration: May 2026 - September 2026 (Flexible based on school summer season)Hourly Wage Range: $23-25 per hourWindow Production Line Optimization:Lead or support a structured project aimed at increasing throughput and improving yield on window manufacturing lines. Project tasks may include:Process observation and data collectionIdentifying bottlenecks, defects, and wasteCollaborating with operators and engineers to develop improvement ideasAssisting with implementation and documentation of improvementsTracking performance metrics before and after changesDaily ResponsibilitiesUpdate and maintain manufacturing documentation, including:Manufacturing Specifications (MSPECs)Operator ManualsWork instructions and standard operating procedures for window productionSupport manufacturing engineers with:Process documentation and standardizationLine balancing and workflow improvementsData analysis related to scrap, yield, and throughputSpend time on the manufacturing floor working closely with operators to understand processes and identify improvement opportunitiesAssist with continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies)Ensure documentation accurately reflects current processes and equipment configurationsQualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related fieldStrong interest in hands-on manufacturing and process improvementAbility to read and interpret technical documentation and process specificationsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailEffective communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teamsPreferred SkillsExposure to Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement conceptsExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentBasic understanding of manufacturingWhat You'll GainReal-world experience in a window production environmentHands-on involvement in throughput and yield improvement projectsExperience creating and maintaining formal manufacturing documentationCollaboration with experienced engineers and operations personnelWhat We OfferOur benefits package includes coverage of your health, wealth, and wellness for you and your eligible spouse/dependents.
