Resident Caregiver

Description: Park Village Pines is looking for a dedicated and compassionate caregiver to become part of our Senior Living community in Kalamazoo. Foster a safe, supportive, and comforting environment, and offer emotional and social support that enriches the lives of our residents.We are seeking someone who is dependable, compassionate, and ready to serve with excellence to:Provide personal care to residents including bathing, oral hygiene, hair grooming, skin and nail care, toileting, dressing and undressing, and shavingAnswer call lights to determine and meet resident needsTransport/transfer residents using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and stand-by assistAssist and encourage residents in keeping their rooms clean and orderly, providing a comfortable living environmentChange bed linens and make bedsMonitor residents and reports any changes in skin condition, appetite, behavior, emotional needs, etc.Assist with meals and collects food trays from residents’ roomsIs aware of resident’s needs and responds quickly, appropriately, and with compassionate and appropriate supportRespond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies while maintaining resident and co-worker safety at all timesWork Schedules:This position requires availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.Full-time and Part-time shifts available. Requirements: Job Requirements include:Adheres to HIPPA regulations at all times, including not discussing residents’ circumstances with other departments or non-authorized individuals and maintains confidentiality at all timesMaintains clean work area and helps support a clean and comfortable environment for all residents and staffUses safe and appropriate body mechanics when lifting and/or transferring residentsFollows all infectious control protocol and policiesCompletes daily charting and paperwork as required in a timely mannerConsistently demonstrates a positive and compassionate attitude toward residents, co-workers, families, and the public.Physical Requirements:Lift, push/pull up to 100lbs while assisting residentsLift and carry items up to 15lbs, including basins, resident care items, charts, thermometers, etc.Stand and/or walk up to 90% of an eight (8) hour shift.Park Village Pines is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals.
