Program Assistant
Job Summary
The Digital Rights & Open Technology Program Assistant is a highly organized, detail-oriented, and mission-aligned member of the Exchange Point team who will support our growing portfolio of initiatives across digital rights, AI governance, technical standards engagement, and community-building projects.
We seek a dynamic and dedicated Program Assistant to join our team and help drive impactful global portfolio. In this role, you will support the development, implementation, and coordination of complex projects. This position is for someone who wants meaningful exposure to global technology policy and infrastructure work.
Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will be key in coordinating activities, managing contractors, and ensuring the successful delivery of programs that make a real difference. The Program Assistant will work closely with leadership to support operations, communications, events, writing and research.
Responsibilities
Program & Project Support
Support coordination of multi-stakeholder initiatives (including standards bodies, civil society coalitions, and UN processes)
Track project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements
Assist with drafting reports, meeting summaries, concept notes, and funding proposal
Maintain organized documentation systems across projects
Event & Convening Support
Coordinate logistics for workshops, convenings, and conference participation (virtual and in-person)
Manage participant lists, scheduling, and follow-ups
Support preparation of briefing materials and speaker notes
Communications & Outreach
Assist with newsletter and content publishing (Internet Exchange and related projects)
Draft social media posts and basic communications materials
Help maintain contact lists and stakeholder databases
Administrative & Operational Support
Schedule meetings across time zones
Track invoices and support basic financial documentation
Assist with grant reporting documentation
Maintain internal organizational systems
Track project timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements
Assist with drafting reports, meeting summaries, concept notes, and funding proposals
Maintain organized documentation systems across projects
Experience required
Relevant professional experience (nonprofit, research, policy, tech, or related field)
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong writing and editing ability
Social media and digital communications familiarity
Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Alignment with Exchange Point’s mission and values
Strong preference for
Familiarity with digital rights, internet governance, AI governance, or technical standards processes
Experience supporting grants or nonprofit programs
Experience coordinating international meetings or working across time zones
Comfort engaging with technical material (no engineering background required, but intellectual curiosity is important).

Pay: $24.32 - $29.29 per hour
