Preventative Maintenance Technician

*POSITION SUMMARY* The Preventative Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the company's production equipment, machinery, building systems, and facility in a safe, reliable, and functional condition. This position performs scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, inspections, and general building maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and support safe and efficient daily operations. The technician will work closely with the maintenance supervisor and maintenance mechanic to identify maintenance needs, respond to equipment issues, complete preventative maintenance activities, and maintain accurate records of work performed *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS* · Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, tools, and related systems. · Follow established preventative maintenance schedules, checklists, procedures, and manufacturer recommendations. · Inspect equipment regularly to identify worn, damaged, or deteriorating components before failures occur. · Lubricate, adjust, clean, and replace components as required. · Perform routine electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance within the employee's qualifications and training. · Troubleshoot equipment problems and determine appropriate corrective action. · Repair or replace defective components when appropriate. · Assist with installation, relocation, modification, and startup of machinery and equipment. · Maintain preventative maintenance records and document completed work. · Prioritize maintenance activities based on safety, production requirements, equipment condition and operational needs. · Communicate recurring equipment problems or potential failures to management. · Maintain an adequate inventory of commonly used maintenance supplies, parts, and materials and notify management when replenishment is needed. · Coordinate with outside contractors or service providers when specialized repairs or services are required. · Help identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime. · Assist with maintenance of the facility improvements, set up new equipment, perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. · Responsible to learn, follow, and support the policies, procedures, and work instructions of the company’s quality system. *POSITION QUALIFICATIONS* *Competency Statement(s)* · Technical Aptitude - Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. · Initiative - Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve problems or reach a goal either individually or within a team environment. · Decision Making – ability to select an effective course of action while controlling resources and expenditures.
