Melt/Molding Supervisor - 2nd shift!

Are you a manufacturing supervisor professional eager to advance your career? We present an outstanding opening for a Melt/Molding Supervisor on our 2nd shift! This role offers a fantastic chance to improve and oversee our 2nd shift operations, personnel, and safety of the department to ensure the on-time shipment of quality castings. You will monitor department costs, quality methods and requirements, and the effective use of production hours, labor skills, and furnaces. Additionally, you will participate in planning and staffing requirements.In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Maintain production to achieve company goals within acceptable scrap levelsMaintain and enforce safety program for the production department; review safety records to uphold company policies to ensure a safe environment for all employeesBe accountable for the melt department, relating to departmental costs, quality, equipment efficiency, and quantity of productionSpend majority of time working in the department during production to exercise firsthand direction and control of the activities along with ensuring company policies are being followedAssist management in general foundry problems, whether it be quality problems or capital expenditures for the departmentEnsure and audit 5s policies in the departmentProvide leadership and administer company rules, regulations, union rules, and policiesAssume responsibility and exercise means to direct, coordinate, train, and supervise all Melt Department operations across all shiftsWho You Are:You provide appropriate guidance and direction based on people's capabilities. You adjust communication to fit the audience and the message. You leverage each team member's unique background to achieve team goals. You work to create a feeling of belonging and strong team morale. You display a can-do attitude in good and bad times. You team build with fellow supervisors to build rapport.For This Role, You Will Need:Minimum of two (2) years melting experience in a foundry, induction melting preferredMinimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentA high school diploma is requiredStrong problem-solving skillsGood leadership and organizational skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAvailable to work weekends to support productionDirect, train, and maintain the repair of furnaces, ladles, and pouring spouts, using refractory, ensuring that these components operate efficiently and safely, helping to prevent heat loss, corrosion, and damageResponsible for managing a team of skilled technicians, you will be tasked with coordinating the installation, and maintenance of high-performance refractory materials used in a variety of Melt Shop applications, using union employees as well as outside contractorsLegal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this positionPreferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:Coreless induction furnaces, DISA vertical molding, and Isocure core makingFive (5) years experience in a foundry preferredSome college and/or additional training/metallurgy preferredOur Culture & Commitment to You:We prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
