Employment Type:Full-time (40 hours per week)Base Hourly:$17.53Class/Calendar:A13, 9.25 monthsBenefits:Sick leave, holidays, retirement matched through the Arizona State Retirement System, health, and life insurancePerformance Pay:Available annuallyNew Hire Experience:1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximumNew Hire Education:1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the positionJob Summary:To assist in the coordinating, administering and monitoring of district testing for English Language Acquisition Department to ensure quality control and compliance with district, state and federal guidelines.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate district testing for English Language Acquisition DepartmentAssist in the identification, screening, testing and placement of language minority studentsPrepare student counts; maintain records, reports and other recordkeeping tasks; inventory and update testing materials and kits Assume responsibility for gathering data; assist in preparation of final reports (i.e. results, interpretations, recommendations); relay test results to appropriate personnelRespond to inquiries and testing requests from school personnelDevelop files and maintain quality controlAttend designated meetings and support innovative ideasPerform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unitRegular and on-time attendance requiredAssist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activitiesAssists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools Required Qualifications:High School education or equivalentBilingual in Spanish preferred; must pass language proficiency testComputer and clerical experience helpful Skills & Competencies:Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a GraduateDemonstrates commitment to the MPS Promise that every student is known by name, served by strength and need, and graduates ready for college, career and communityAbility to organize and prioritize workload, to use initiative and to meet deadlines with accurate attention to detail while working with minimum supervisionAbility to effectively communicate (verbal and written) in person and via telephoneMaintain testing schedules, deadlines, and compliance checklistsAbility to explain testing procedures and timelines clearlyProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and educational data systems (like ELLevation, PowerSchool, or other SIS)Understand state/district guidelines for EL assessments Work Environment & Physical Requirements:Most of the work is performed indoors in a school office, classroom, or testing environmentTravel to schools throughout the districtFast-Paced at Times: Testing windows can bring high volumes of tasks and deadlines.
