Project ManagerThe Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of retail and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role manages all aspects of project execution including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.Projects may include ground-up construction, tenant improvements, remodels, and retail expansions such as shopping centers, grocery stores, and national retail brands. The ideal candidate is experienced in fast-paced retail environments and can manage multiple projects while maintaining schedule, cost, and quality expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage retail construction projects from preconstruction through completion and turnover.Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial performance.Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with fast-track retail timelines and store openings.Coordinate subcontractor buyouts, contracts, and scope management.Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project logs.Work closely with Superintendents to ensure strong field execution and productivity.Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment to support project timelines.Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams.Identify and resolve project risks, schedule impacts, and coordination challenges.Support design-build and project management efforts by providing input on constructability and execution strategies.Manage multiple projects simultaneously across various locations as needed.Oversee project closeout including punch lists, final documentation, and client turnover.Qualifications7+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a general contractor.Strong experience managing retail construction projects, including tenant improvements and remodels.Experience with ground-up commercial or retail developments is preferred.Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish (full lifecycle).Strong understanding of construction processes including scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience working on shopping centers, grocery stores, or national retail rollouts.Familiarity with design-build, tenant improvement, and renovation projects.Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software.Experience working on projects with aggressive schedules and multiple stakeholders.
