Simulation Engineer
Kadence is partnered with an early-stage AI hardware company building the next generation of compute architecture. This company works at the intersection of algorithms, hardware, and systems and they're growing the team that connects our technical work to the customers who need it.The Role
We're looking for a Simulation Engineer to sit at the bridge between their algorithms team and our go-to-market motion. Your job is to take simulation briefs from our algorithms engineers, run and adapt those simulations, and help their customer-facing team turn the results into materials and live iterations that customers can actually use. This is an engineering role, not a research role. You won't be inventing new models, you'll be operating and extending existing simulation systems, translating technical outputs into accessible formats, and iterating quickly with a team that moves fast. What You'll Do
Run and adapt simulations using tools like Astra Sim and Gem5 to model workloads, latency, memory movement, power, and comparative system performance
Take briefs from algorithms engineers and produce simulation outputs that answer specific technical questions
Work closely with the GTM team to turn simulation results into customer-ready materials, visualizations, and live scenario explorations
Help non-technical stakeholders navigate and interpret simulation outputs in real time
Iterate quickly as customer conversations evolve and new scenarios are needed
Over time, help build tooling and interfaces that make simulation results more accessible across the orgWhat We're Looking For
Strong programmer, Python above all, comfort with C++ a plus
Familiarity with computer architecture concepts: memory hierarchies, interconnects, latency, bandwidth, power modeling
Experience with or strong willingness to learn simulation frameworks such as Astra Sim, Gem5, or similar
Ability to communicate technical results clearly to people who aren't in the weeds
Curiosity about visualization and interfaces- you find it interesting to think about how to make complex outputs explorable
Scrappy and self-directed, comfortable operating in a small team where the scope of your role will evolveNice to Have
Direct experience with Astra Sim, Gem5, or related architecture simulation tools
Exposure to workload modeling, roofline analysis, or performance profiling
Experience at a semiconductor, hardware, or HPC environment
Interest in or exposure to customer-facing technical workCompensation Range: $130k - $175k base, plus equity.
