Licensed Psychiatric Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Technician to join our mental health team. The successful candidate will provide direct care and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties Assist patients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition. Monitor patients’ behaviour and mental state, documenting observations accurately. Implement therapeutic interventions under the supervision of healthcare professionals. Support medication administration in accordance with prescribed guidelines. Respond promptly to patient needs, ensuring their safety at all times. Facilitate group activities and recreational therapy sessions to promote social interaction. Maintain a clean and safe environment within the healthcare setting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and review care plans. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients experiencing distress or agitation. Experience Previous experience working in mental health or healthcare settings is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage empathetically with diverse individuals. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for accurate record keeping. A recognised qualification in healthcare or related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
