Explore the full range of benefits and learn more about how Bluestem Communities can be the right fit for youvisit our Careers page today!Position Overview:The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to performs general repairs and maintenance for the organization including maintenance of structures and building systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and electrical systems.Essential Job Functions:Repair structures and building systemsComplete work orders and perform other duties as requested.Maintain structures and building systems in a satisfactory condition.Repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems as needed.Maintain plumbing systems and does repair as needed.Maintain supplies and equipment needed to perform daily maintenance tasksMaintain equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and attractive manner.Inform supervisor of areas needing attention or repair and of needed equipment orWork independently and consider resident's needsUnderstand and follow directions of supervisor, often working with little or no supervisionPerform work unobtrusively in consideration of resident's needsOn-call rotationServe as part of a rotating on-call pool, requiring availability to respond to calls and provide support outside of regular business hours as needed.QualificationsQualifications and Experience:Must be at least eighteen [18] years of agePrefer a minimum of 1-year experience performing general maintenanceMust be able to deal tactfully with residents, visitors, and employeesMust have valid KS driver's license and meet Bluestem driving requirementsPhysical Requirements:Medium Work Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
