Our projects demand craftsmanship, leadership, adaptability, and a strong commitment to quality in the field.CMA Development is hiring a Lead Carpenter/Foreman to lead daily field execution while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and supporting a strong jobsite culture. This role combines hands-on carpentry with field leadership and includes intentional overlap with light superintendent duties on certain jobs. The right candidate can run day-to-day work, guide crews, coordinate short-term jobsite needs, and help keep projects moving with professionalism and consistency. This is a key field role for someone who knows how to build and knows how to lead.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced rough and finish carpentry with precision and consistencyLead day-to-day field operations on assigned projects, ensuring steady progress, quality control, and coordination of tradesAssign tasks, guide crew members, and track daily progressMentor journeymen and apprentices while supporting a positive team cultureCoordinate short-term work with subcontractors within a 1-3 week planning windowProcure rough materials and ensure timely delivery to the siteSchedule, prepare for, and run inspections for assigned scopesComplete daily logs and photo documentation using company softwareCommunicate field conditions, progress, and material needs to the PM or superintendentMaintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite environmentQualifications10 or more years of carpentry experience in residential constructionProficient spoken and written level of EnglishHigh-end residential remodel or custom home experience strongly preferredStrong mastery of rough carpentry, layout, envelope work, and finish carpentryAbility to lead field execution across multiple small to mid-size projectsExperience coordinating subcontractors and managing short-term project flowAbility to confidently schedule and run inspectionsStrong plan-reading and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership, communication, and mentorship abilityMust be able to provide standard personal carpentry hand tools used in daily workValid California driver's license and reliable personal transportationPay and BenefitsFull-time, W-2 EmployeePay: $55 to $65 per hour, based on experience and level of field leadership responsibilityThis role is structured to grow into increased field leadership responsibility, with opportunities for compensation growth based on demonstrated performancePaid time offPaid holidaysHealth insurance contributionCar allowancePhone allowance$500 annual reimbursement for tools, continuing education, or professional developmentSchedule: Monday-Friday, typical construction-site hours; occasional early starts or overtime based on project needsTravel: Local travel between Bay Area job sites required*Probation Period: 90-day probation period. During this period, employees will receive hourly pay along with sick leave, cell phone, and auto allowance.
