Our Purpose: Bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.Technician - On the job training providedIntertek is searching for an Entry-level Technician to join our Building & Construction team in our York, PA office.Benefits InformationIn addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.What you'll do:Assist with or perform a variety of tests on construction materials using testing equipmentRead construction documents to determine project details and specificationsNeatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including test reports and timesheets - in a timely mannerRecords and reports test results after performing mathematical calculationsCommunicate orally and in writing with different parties involved with the projectPerform maintenance/cleaning of equipment as neededAdheres to construction site safety guidelines and promotes a safe working environmentComfortable using MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)Inspection of construction operationsOther duties as assignedWhat it takes to be successful in this role:High school diploma or GEDTechnical competency to understand and communicate test procedures, specifications, and resultsGeneral construction/carpentry knowledge and experience using power toolsExcellent customer service skillsStrong communication skills - both written and oralGood computer skills using Word and ExcelAbility to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, crawl, push and pull, stretch, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of timeValid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)Ability to pass pre-employment checkIntertek: Total Quality.
