Specifically, to supervise the maintenance and facility teams to include, repairs, preventive maintenance, and sanitation, both in house and contractors, of the Westport St. Louis MO site. Must have the ability to handle several projects simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail. Maintain compliance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). The position requires management of both supervisory and organized labor to ensure that the Facility and equipment comply not only with cGMP’s but also that labor and material standards are met.ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership, coaching, training and development of colleagues consistent with KINDEVA values. Maintain technical skills in the latest techniques for facilities and their technology as applied to the pharmaceutical industry.Key Responsibilities Include Develop objectives, long range plans, standards of service and performance of direct reports and their respective programs. Supervise colleagues and contract services, for a multi-faceted, multi-shift manufacturing operation in compliance with company and corporate policies. Interact with the sites Engineering Department on key processes to reduce waste and improve quality for new and existing products. Manage all facility related services to include, but not limited to sanitation, sanitation supply inventory management, grounds/landscaping, pest control and snow removal to support 24-hour 7 day per week operation. Facilities planning, and facilities maintenance including, but not limited to, painting, plumbing, electrical, janitorial services, and HVAC. Manage all leased facilities acting as a point of contact for all interaction with landlords, managing all maintenance, sanitation, and janitorial activities and services. Define and manage facilities expense projects, including project scoping, bid request and evaluation, and project management. Work with engineering to provide support for various facilities capital projects for new and/or renovations, including design, construction, verification and operations. Manage all equipment and facilities expenditures. Interact with all STL departments to ensure company goals are met. Reviews work requests and work orders daily to determine workload priorities. Performs equipment, utilities and facility related investigations Performs and/or assist in IQ/OQ/PQ activities Drives the continuous improvement of the maintenance department related to cost reduction Assign work and monitor progress for assigned staff Ensure departmental compliance with all Quality, and Environmental, Health, and Safety programs Oversee/manage all plant utilities including boiler/steam, compressed air, power distribution, purified water, HVAC, dust collection, plumbing, etc. Coordinate the efforts of outside contractors with regards to maintenance Oversee building and grounds maintenance for entire manufacturing facility Review maintenance SOPs and ensure all procedures are up to date. Assign work requests and preventive maintenance for assigned staffCoordinate tasks from the preventive maintenance program Ensure maintenance complies with SOPs Ensure work is appropriately documented following Good Documentation Practices. Ensure equipment works as expected, minimize production downtime Ensure preventive maintenance complies with FDA requirements and appropriately documentedQualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree or certificate from college or vocational school in technical science. Experience: Experience leading maintenance and facilities team in a GMP environment. Experience in general maintenance and repair work consisting of welding, pipefitting, and electrical repairs. Experience in the methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing and installing plan equipment is required.Minimum of five years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry working within pharmaceutical production operations.Problem Solving and Innovation: Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.
