Seasonal Education Program Assistant

SUMMARY Provide support to the EAA Education Department, with a particular emphasis on AirVenture youth program planning and execution. Working alongside Education team members, assisting with preparing activity materials, developing program schedules, coordinating logistics with external presenters and exhibitors, and supporting set-up and on-site delivery of youth programs during AirVenture.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist the Education team with planning and preparation for AirVenture Youth Programs.Prepare and organize activity materials and supplies for youth programming.Support development and maintenance of program schedules and timelines.Communicate with outside presenters and exhibitors to coordinate program logistics.Assist with program set-up, breakdown, and on-site logistics during AirVenture.Support facilitation and smooth operation of youth programs during the airshow.Provide general administrative and operational support to the Education team, as needed.Embrace and support the EAA mission.Perform safe practices in the workplace and aviation environment.All other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent required; current high school or college students encouraged to apply.Interest in youth education, aviation, events, or non-profit programming.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow direction from Education staff.Strong communication skills and attention to detail when preparing materials and supporting schedules. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, event-based environment.Working knowledge of basic MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience working in Excel or equivalent is preferred.Availability to work during AirVenture, including variable hours and some evenings or weekend.Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods of time.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with youth, camps, classrooms, or educational programs.Familiarity with events, festivals, or large-scale programs.Interest in aviation or STEM education.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSTypical office setting. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.Preparation for AirVenture or other events may require lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods of time while bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and push and pull motions.
