Sample Designer - Beads & Gemstones
Sheryl Lowe is seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Jewelry Designer specializing in colored gemstone and beaded jewelry to join our growing design team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for color, proportion, and luxury styling, combined with hands-on experience creating beaded jewelry prototypes and working directly with artisans.The ideal candidate has 4–5+ years of jewelry design experience, a deep understanding of gemstones and beading techniques, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is a hands on role that requires in-person partnership with our Montecito-based production and design teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop luxury beaded bracelet collections using gemstones, fine materials, and signature Sheryl Lowe aestheticsCreate original concepts, sketches, prototypes, and sample pieces for seasonal and core collectionsWork hands-on with in-house artisans to refine construction, fit, durability, and finishing detailsWork in partnership with product development to source and select gemstones, beads, cords, and related materials with an elevated design perspectiveCollaborate closely with the Lead Designer, Creative Director, and Founder on product direction and collection developmentParticipate in sales and merchandising meetings to present new designs and collection storiesMaintain awareness of market trends, color stories, luxury jewelry trends, and customer preferencesSupport revisions, production adjustments, and sample approvals throughout development cyclesEnsure all designs align with brand standards, quality expectations, and production capabilitiesQualifications4–5+ years of professional jewelry design experienceStrong experience designing and prototyping gemstone and beaded jewelry pieces, particularly braceletsKnowledge of gemstones, bead materials, closures, cords, and jewelry construction techniquesExcellent sense of color, balance, proportion, and luxury stylingComfortable working collaboratively in an in-person studio environmentStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or jewelry design software preferredExperience working with artisans or small-batch luxury production teams is a plusPassion for fashion, jewelry, and elevated California luxury aestheticsWhat We're Looking ForA highly creative designer with refined taste and strong technical executionSomeone who enjoys both conceptual design and hands-on making/prototypingA collaborative team player excited to contribute to a growing luxury brandA proactive self-starter who thrives in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
