With a commitment to 100 percent renewable energy, the program emphasizes sustainable solutions for high-performance computing applications, aiming to positively impact the communities served.About the Opportunity:The STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER in Platform Engineering plays a critical role in shaping the organization's technical platform by addressing complex, cross-team challenges. This individual contributor position focuses on long-term technical strategy, coaching engineers at an organizational scale, and delivering impactful design documents and solutions that enable multiple teams to work effectively. The role involves deep domain expertise and significant influence over the platform's evolution over several years.Responsibilities:Take ownership of technical direction across multiple teams with a multi-year outlook.Conduct design and architecture reviews that extend beyond individual teams.Pair with engineers to resolve challenging problems and mentor for growth.Write design documents and technical standards used by various teams.Deliver substantial projects by enabling other engineers rather than solo development.Address cross-team issues that lack clear ownership.Maintain hands-on involvement including coding, code reviews, debugging, and on-call duties.Identify and resolve organizational technical inefficiencies.Collaborate with engineering managers and product teams on planning, sequencing, and prioritization.Requirements:Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including senior-level roles.Deep expertise in at least one domain such as distributed systems, databases, networking, data engineering, or applied AI.Demonstrated technical influence beyond direct team responsibilities.Proven coaching skills with evidence of engineers' growth under mentorship.Track record of multi-year technical judgment and decision-making.Excellent written communication skills, especially in producing persuasive and enduring design documents.Experience owning systems in production, including operations, on-call, and incident management.Customer-focused approach ensuring designs simplify others’ work.Ability to handle ambiguity and make prudent decisions about what should or should not be built.Nice to have:Experience in rapidly scaling companies with evolving architectures.Familiarity with high-volume data pipelines, streaming, telemetry, or time series data.Background in deploying machine learning or large language model systems.Experience working with software interacting closely with physical infrastructure.Contributions to open source, publications, or domain-related talks.Pay Range and Compensation Package:The expected base salary for this role is USD 184,000 to 276,000 per annum.Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and regional market data.Benefits & Perks:Medical insuranceDental insurance401(k)Equal Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
