About Advantage Interests Inc.Advantage Interests Inc., an Eagle Fire owned company, specializes in industrial fire protection, fire alarm, and fire & gas detection solutions for commercial, industrial, petrochemical, manufacturing, and hazardous environment applications throughout the Gulf Coast region.With decades of industry experience and the support of Eagle Fire Inc., our team delivers engineered life safety solutions designed to protect people, facilities, and critical operations in some of the industry’s most demanding environments.As we continue growing our industrial systems division, we are seeking motivated professionals who are passionate about technical excellence, innovation, and long-term career development within the fire protection and industrial safety industry.Position SummaryThe Fire Alarm Designer is responsible for the design, layout, and development of commercial and industrial fire alarm systems in accordance with applicable NFPA codes, customer specifications, and local jurisdiction requirements.This position works closely with project managers, field personnel, engineers, and customers to develop code-compliant fire alarm system designs, shop drawings, battery calculations, riser diagrams, and technical documentation for new construction, retrofit, and industrial projects.The ideal candidate will possess strong AutoCAD experience, technical fire alarm knowledge, and a solid understanding of fire alarm system design principles and code compliance.Essential ResponsibilitiesDesign commercial and industrial fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards and project specificationsPrepare fire alarm layouts, riser diagrams, wiring details, battery calculations, and shop drawings using AutoCADReview project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop compliant system designsCoordinate with project managers, field teams, AHJs, contractors, and customers throughout project executionSupport system device selection and equipment layout for fire alarm and life safety systemsEnsure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and customer requirementsAssist with permit submittals and design revisions as requiredMaintain organized project documentation and drawing revisionsParticipate in technical troubleshooting and problem-solving activities as neededProvide drafting and design support for fire & gas projects when applicableQualifications:Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical degree or coursework related to drafting, engineering technology, or fire protection preferredMinimum 3+ years of fire alarm system design experience preferredExperience designing commercial or industrial fire alarm systems requiredCertificationsNICET Level III in Fire Alarm Systems preferredNICET Level II candidates with strong design experience may also be consideredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of NFPA codes and fire alarm system design requirementsProficiency with AutoCAD requiredProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft WordAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentsStrong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team settingIn compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, we maintain a drug-free workplace and operate a Drug-Free Workplace program.
