Managed Services Engineer
The primary role of Managed Services Engineer is to manage and leverage the suite of Managed Services to ensure we provide proactive, sustainable, and efficient technical services and solutions to our clients. The secondary role of this position is to continuously evaluate our technology stack by seeking additional benefits from current vendors (such as implementing additional functionality as it is released) or finding other ways and methods to make managed service delivery faster and/or more efficient for Allevia and our clients.
What will this person do?
Continuing evaluation of the company’s Managed Services Policies and Procedures
Monitor Managed Services for updates, patches, and outages to maintain uptime and peak performance
Monitor Managed Services equipment for replacement, licensing, or issues to ensure compliance, uptime or peak performance
Develop, document, and maintain automated work processes to increase efficiencies through automation, such as client onboarding, workstation deployments, printer and drive mapping, and help desk fixes based on ticket status
Teach Managed Services Support best practices
Act as an escalation path for Managed Services Support
Develop, document, and maintain automated ways to reduce regular alerts including, but not limited to: patching, disk space, backup, antivirus
Develop, document, and maintain patching, OS update scheduling, and policies
Develop, document, and maintain rules to create alerts from managed network resources
Continually monitor, remediate, and resolvcae alerts
Monitor external vendors and third-party boards to provide recommended updates or changes for various platforms, such as Microsoft, Ubiquiti, Lenovo, etc.
Assist and coordinate with internal stack software and hardware migrations to ensure connectivity and integrations’ functionality
Develop, organize, and release valuable reports for workstations, servers, and other configuration items to assist with being proactive in configuration item replacement
Develop, document, and maintain new methods to provide managed services to clients
Coordinate with and report to the Product Service Delivery Division Leader to identify, plan, execute, and review best practices for and changes to our technological stack
Report on value of automation over time; providing usage of statuses and scripts, etc
Required Experience:
3-5 years in IT managed services and RMM management
1-2 years scripting and automation development
