FT Crisis Counselor- 3rd Shift

Requirements: Responsible for offering empathetic and acute services for youth in crisis ages 12-17 at our Youth Crisis Center, located in Little River, SC; facilitates individual, group and family conferences and provides appropriate referrals to residents and families as needed. Experience working with youth in crisis, effective written and oral communication skills, organizational and leadership skills, ability to adapt to changes quickly and easily, and willingness to be a team player. Background checks are required, must be 21 years of age or older and include a clean three-year driving record and other federal requirements. Position responsibilities: Individual must have flexibility in working various 8.0 hour shifts weekly as scheduled by the Program Director a month in advance. Availability for emergency coverage if required. Facilitate group discussions, life skills, harm reduction, trauma-informed & strengths based approaches to care. Be able to implement crisis de-escalation techniques & therapeutic interventions: training on techniques & interventions are provided Perform youth crisis center chores, cooking, and basic life skills to support the stability of each youth served in care. Complete case management, documentation, intakes and assessments with youth and families. Participation in all required training programs. Responsible for transporting youth to community activities with youth crisis center vehicles. Coordination and participation in fundraisers/program, events; participation in other program activities. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services preferred An associate degree in Human Services is acceptable or equivalent combination of education and experience. Shift: 1st Shift: 8am-4pm 2nd Shift: 4pm-12am Mid Shift: 12pm-8pm 3rd Shift: 12am-8am Applicants will be contacted if selected for the interview process.
