Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to champion a safe, compliant, and health-conscious workplace environment. Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies aligned with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and workers' compensation law requirements.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and root cause analysis to identify hazards and implement corrective actions proactively.
Lead safety training sessions focused on OSHA compliance, CPR, first aid, occupational health practices, and emergency response procedures to empower employees with essential safety skills.
Manage incident investigations by preparing detailed report writing, analyzing root causes, and recommending preventive measures to reduce future risks.
Oversee environmental compliance efforts related to waste management, emissions control, and hazardous material handling in accordance with EPA regulations.
Coordinate workers' compensation claims processes, ensuring timely reporting and adherence to legal requirements while supporting injured employees’ recovery.
Foster a culture of safety awareness through ongoing training & development initiatives and clear communication of safety expectations.
Qualifications
Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA standards and EPA regulations.
Certification in first aid and CPR is highly preferred; additional safety certifications such as OSHA 30-hour or 500-hour courses are advantageous.
Knowledge of workers' compensation law procedures and reporting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and report writing for incident investigations.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop effective training programs focused on occupational health and safety.
Excellent communication skills to engage employees at all levels in safety initiatives.
