Our work is grounded in the belief that healing should never be a privilege, and that communities thrive when they have access to the tools, language, and support that strengthen emotional health, relational wellbeing, and sustainable human connection.As the behavioral health crisis continues to impact families, schools, workplaces, and communities, we are committed to prevention-first solutions that address root causes before crisis occurs.About This RoleWe are currently seeking a mission-aligned board member with demonstrated grant writing and funding development experience to join our working board.This is a hands-on role for someone who believes deeply in community impact, prevention-focused work, and helping build meaningful infrastructure for a growing nonprofit organization. We are specifically looking for someone who brings both strategic insight and practical experience in securing nonprofit funding opportunities.Current board composition includes:• Executive Director• Board President• Secretary• Nonprofit AdvisorWhat You Will Do• Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with E&W’s mission across foundations, government agencies, and corporate giving programs• Collaborate with board members to develop, write, and submit compelling grant proposals• Support funding strategy conversations and organizational growth planning• Help establish and maintain grant calendars, reporting systems, and stewardship processes• Assist in building long-term relationships with funders and community partnersWhat You Bring• Demonstrated experience writing successful grant proposals• Familiarity with nonprofit funding landscapes and grant cycles• Strong written communication and organizational skills• Alignment with trauma prevention, behavioral health, community wellness, or equity-focused initiatives• Ability to work collaboratively within a small, committed, mission-driven board• Self-direction, initiative, and the ability to manage deadlines independentlyWhat We Offer• A meaningful seat at the table of a growing prevention-first nonprofit• The opportunity to directly impact communities navigating behavioral health challenges• Collaboration with a passionate founder and leadership team committed to systems-level change• The ability to help shape the future direction and sustainability of the organizationThis is currently a volunteer board position.
