Insurance Sales Executive $65,000k-$85,000k + CommissionMonday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pmColumbus, Ohio (Onsite)Permanent OpportunityResponsible for generating sales opportunities with new clients in a defined market; coordinates personal sales efforts with department team members and other internal staff. Also collaborates with the team to cross-sell products and services; develops and implements a personal sales plan with direct accountability for annual production goals. What You’ll Do:Establishes a sales development plan to originate business with new clients; builds and maintains a book of business, and incrementally grows the book at plan each yearCapitalizes on opportunities to cross-sell multiple lines of coverage to existing clients; collaborates with department peers and service staff, managing the company's various practices to maximize the sale of services providedMaintains a high level of sales activity through self-driven initiatives to achieve production goals; markets products and services to the appropriate contactDevelops and executes a proactive strategy to source leads, identify and target decision-makers, and make cold calls to obtain opportunities for an appointment and service presentationPerforms a detailed analysis of a prospective client's needs by reviewing their existing insurance/risk management program; makes recommendations for appropriate and competitive coveragesCustomizes insurance programs to suit customer needs, covering a variety of risks; explains features, advantages, and disadvantages of various policies to promote the sale of servicesCommunicates products and services by developing the appropriate presentation and implementing closing techniques to secure the businessMeets with existing clients on a regular basis to maintain close relationships and ensure required services are provided as expected; acts as an adviser and consultant, helping customers analyze risk and apply innovative solutions to resolve complex risk problemsMaintains accurate and timely electronic records of all prospecting activities utilizing Microsoft CRM software, including the data entry of established contacts, sales calls and presentations performed, closed sales achieved, and other follow-up activitiesDevelops a personal network of contacts for the long-term sourcing of prospects through professional referrals and special-interest groups; participants in community events, non-profit boards, and other community networking opportunitiesAttends industry events, seminars, and informational workshops to learn about changes in the competitive market and the new products and services provided; receives technical training and enhances skills to improve account development abilityStays up-to-date with legislative changes, industry trends, and new product offerings; assists in the implementation of company promotional activities and seminarsAttends and participates in all mandatory Business Development Team meetingsWhat We’re Looking For: Proven success in sales, business development, or client relationship-focused role requiredExperience within or desire to work in insurance brokerage, financial services, retirement planning, employee benefits, or other consultative sales environments requiredProperty & Casualty, Life & Health, Personal Lines, or Retirement Planning experience, or a desire to work in this industry, is requiredActive insurance license preferred; candidates must be willing and able to obtain appropriate licensing upon hireA pro-active, goal-driven, and confident attitudeA service-oriented, collaborative approachEffective networking and relationship-building skillsExceptional interpersonal abilitiesAn outgoing, professional demeanorExcellent listening, verbal, and written communication skillsHighly organized, detail-oriented, and results-basedInsightful, creative, and innovativeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
