FOOD SERVICE SUMMER INTERN - FOR CTA STUDENTThe Milwaukee Rescue Mission is offering one CTA student a paid Food Service Internship for 6 weeks this summer. The paid internship is available only for current CTA 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade high school students (including May graduates). The Food Service Intern will aid in the prep and service of lunch for 150+ staff and guests at the Central Campus.PAY RATE: $11.00/HourWork ScheduleTemporary/Seasonal position June 15 - July 24, 2026Part-time, 16 hours/week, Monday-Thursday, 8:30am–12:30pmLOCATION: Central Campus, 830 N 19th Street, Milwaukee, WI. 53233ResponsibilitiesAssist with lunch meal prep, including following recipes, cutting vegetables, bakingWash, prepare, and assemble cold side food for lunchAssist with lunch service and clean upAssist with food prep for following day or dinner serviceAll other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Current CTA 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade high school student (or graduated in May)Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0Good school behavior recordAble and willing to take and follow directions from kitchen staff memberDeveloping organizational, prioritization, and time-management skillsDeveloping collaboration and communication skillsDetail-orientatedAbility to work effectively with othersAccepting of supervisor direction, correction and feedbackEnthusiastic with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team playerReliable in work attendance and being on time dailyMust maintain good personal hygiene and general cleanliness at all timesMust be able to handle physical workload – ability to stand for long periods of time, walking, stair climbing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, reaching, handling and gripping without difficulty, repetitive movement of both hands and arms, as well as frequent lifting or moving items with a maximum weight of 25 lbs a short distance (ex: floor to shelf or cart), and pushing or pulling heavier items with the use of a cart or dollyContinue developing a genuine concern for the salvation and spiritual welfare for all those encountered through the ministry of MRM, seeking to model and share the hope of the gospel within the established responsibilities of this position.A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsiveRegular attender of an evangelical church whose theology is in alignment with our Statement of Faith and Statement of Biblical ConvictionsBe in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical ConvictionsBe a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conductPass a pre-employment background check and drug testSEASONAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:$11.00/hourFree meal available during shift
