On W2 (Without Benefits)Duties:Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) enables businesses to deliver the right experience at the right time to their customers. The Segmentation Service is one of the key AEP services, providing the ability to define customer segments and generate target audiences based on real-time customer profiles. Customer segment definitions are sophisticated queries over profile and event data capturing specific attributes or behaviors shared by a subset of users. With the need to perform trillions of audience segment evaluations per day, scalability and efficiency are paramount in segment evaluation. This is a great opportunity for engineers to solve extremely interesting challenges of scale and build core services that are used by all Client Digital Experience solutions. As part of building these services, you will work with an exceptionally talented and collaborative team, tackle complex query evaluation challenges, design & implement innovative algorithms and build highly performant services.What you'll DoCollaborate with a team of engineers & product managers in building a high-performance segmentation engine. Own responsibility for design and implementation of key componentsDevelop query compilation algorithms that transform and rewrite segment definition queriesDevelop query optimization and evaluation algorithms including multi-query optimization, incremental evaluation and streaming evaluationWork on cross functional themes involving advanced data pipelines using Apache SparkBuild tools to monitor query performance and identify & debug potential semantic errorsDeploy production services and iteratively improve them based on customer feedbackFollow Agile methodologies using industry leading CI/CD pipelinesParticipate in architecture, design & code reviewsSkills:Experience building a scalable query engine or equivalent practical experience is required. Experience in language design is a plusStrong grasp of algorithms and data structuresProficiency in Databases or compilers is preferredStrong programming skills with extensive experience in Java or ScalaProficiency in Apache Spark is preferred.Leadership skills to collaborate and drive cross-team effortsExcellent communication skillsAdaptable to evolving priorities, accepting challenges outside one's comfort zone, learning new technologies, and delivering viable solutions within defined time boundaries.Education:B.S. in Computer Science or a related field is requiredM.S. in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience is preferred
