This is a strategic position that involves leading the GPO formation and strategy, defining the operating model, and partnering with the company's leadership on build vs. acquisition decisions. The successful candidate will be responsible for vendor and strategic partnerships, leveraging existing industry relationships to build a high-quality vendor ecosystem, and negotiating commercial terms. A critical focus will be on shaping the commercial model, driving measurable value for customers, and tracking adoption and performance. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years' of experience in sales, strategic sourcing, partnerships, marketplaces, or related commercial roles, with a strong preference for those with direct experience in the dental, medical, healthcare services, or veterinary industries. Key skills include strong commercial judgment, negotiation capability, and the ability to influence and sell value. The role requires a builder mindset, comfort in decentralized environments, and a focus on outcomes. The Head of GPO will be expected to launch an operational GPO in one core vertical, secure anchor vendor agreements, and establish a repeatable commercial and operating model.
