Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a fellowship trained, board certified or board eligible, Advanced Heart Failure Transplant Cardiologist to join our Advanced Heart Failure Transplant team in the Greater Austin Region. The role focuses on inpatient and outpatient cardiac transplant and advanced heart failure services at Lakeway and Round Rock hospitals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide inpatient and outpatient heart failure and transplant consultation services.
Perform LVAD/HTx clinic duties, including ECHO for VAD/HTx and invasive procedures such as right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitor placement, and endomyocardial biopsies.
Participate in ACGME education of Cardiology Fellows and serve on the inpatient cardiac transplant service at BSWH Round Rock and BSWH Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Cover transplant, inpatient and outpatient services with predominant time in Lakeway.
Qualifications
UNOS qualified for the care of patients with cardiac transplants.
Doctorate Degree in Medicine.
Licensed to practice medicine in Texas by the Texas Medical Board.
Where applicable, currently board certified or actively pursuing board certification.
Interest in education and research is encouraged but not essential.
Provide coverage for transplant, inpatient and outpatient services.
Predominant amount of time in Lakeway with expected call 1:4 in Round Rock (Recovery program) and 6 weeks a year in Temple (VAD/HTx program).
Dedicated HF nurses and APP available once a week with plans for expansion.
Opportunity to perform cath‑lab procedures such as right heart catheterization, implantable pulmonary artery monitors, and read ECHO for VAD and heart transplant.
