Engineering Manager, Maps & Search - CANADA (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager Maps & Search - CANADA (remote) to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Media environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $120,000 – $150,000 annuallyResponsibilities Lead and grow the Maps & Search team, focusing on hiring and development Contribute directly to code and design reviews, and architecture discussions Own and scale a high-throughput search platform for real estate Deliver a world-class home search experience across web and mobile Implement AI-powered discovery features in search and workflows Shape the product roadmap with a focus on user needs and business goalsQualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in management Search experience focusing on relevance and ranking systems Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React Experience with scalable microservice architectures in cloud environments, preferably AWS Strong understanding of GraphQL, event-driven systems (Kafka), and databases (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch) Proven track record with high-traffic, low-latency production systemsBenefits Generous budget for AI token usage Innovative and collaborative company culture Opportunity to lead a high-traffic, impactful team Engage in a fast-paced and evolving environment Recognition for work within the tech industryOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
