Purchase Specialist
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to work with a very stable and local company. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end purchasing process, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services that meet quality standards and budget requirements. Your expertise will support our supply chain operations, optimize inventory management, and foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.Duties, Functions and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Manage Purchase OrdersComplete and maintain purchase orders, materials, and supplies.Work closely with specific departments to gather and submit orders across the entire organization.Record purchases at time of request and submit orders for formal approval from purchasing manager.Oversee Shipping SchedulesCheck delivery status against purchase orders to ensure all materials have arrived intact and in correct quantity.Schedule outgoing shipments to off-site locations or for returns.Contact vendors to follow up on late/missing shipments or damaged goods.Maintain Purchase RecordsMaintain detailed records of purchases (digital and/or paper).Maintain purchasing department files to simplify regular/repeat ordering.Perform all other special projects as assigned by purchasing manager.QUALIFICATIONSAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.Knowledge of purchasing functions and organizational skills.Solid understanding of sourcing and administration and vendor relationships.Required:High School diploma (Bachelor's degree preferred)2+ years purchasing experienceConstruction industry experience (preferred)Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
