Quality Engineer (Manufacturing | ISO 9001 | Continuous Improvement) Location: Lancaster, NY Compensation: $65,000–$70,000 Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PMMust have valid US PassportWe are seeking a hands-on Quality Engineer to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for driving quality performance, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS). The ideal candidate brings a strong background in manufacturing quality, root cause analysis, and process optimization.This position works cross-functionally with engineering, production, and operations to improve product quality, reduce defects, and increase overall efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesLead root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Whys, 8D, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)Own and maintain ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, including internal and external auditsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, and process efficiencyDevelop and maintain control plans, PFMEA, and process flow documentationAnalyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and implement corrective actionsPartner with production, engineering, and sales to improve product quality and customer satisfactionSupport product disposition decisions and non-conformance investigationsReduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), including scrap, rework, and warranty issuesPerform calibration of tools, gauges, and measurement equipmentEstablish quality standards, inspection criteria, and visual aidsPrepare reports on defects, trends, and corrective actionsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in a quality engineering role within manufacturingStrong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management SystemsExperience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologiesPreferred QualificationsExperience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint readingKnowledge of statistical analysis and quality data interpretationExperience with gauging, metrology, and calibration methodsFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing principlesAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAdditional RequirementsAbility to travel within the U.S. and Canada as needed (occasional overnight travel)Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorshipWork EnvironmentCombination of office and manufacturing floor exposureModerate noise levels in production areasExtended periods working at a computer and performing inspectionsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift light to moderate weightFrequent use of hands for inspection and equipment operationClose vision required for detailed inspection work
