The impact you will have in this role:Market Risk Manager is responsible for the monitoring of daily margin calculation and managing market and liquidity risk exposures arising from trade execution and settlement activities in the various clearing corporations and the depository. Responsibilities also include supervising a completion of daily work, monthly and ad-hoc reports in timely and accurate manner to ensure the compliance with Risk Management policies and procedures. With strong interpersonal and leadership skills, understanding of margining methodologies, keen understanding of financial markets and client profiles, the ideal candidate will effectively manage the team of market risk staff and collaborate with other DTCC teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate potential risks and safeguard financial market in which DTCC plays a pivotal role.Your Primary Responsibilities:Lead a team of market risk associates and analysts spread across global officesReview, evaluate and sign off on a daily work and other deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of work performedProactively identify and evaluate change in member’s market risk exposures, liquidity needs and settlement obligations to call out and mitigate exposures in timely mannerMonitor market conditions and economic trends to anticipate potential risks and their potential impact on members’ margin requirementsMitigate risk by ensuring adherence of the processes to the policies and procedures, identifying potential model, report errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behaviorManage issues arising from internal audits, regulatory exams, and risk assessment, collaborate with partners to develop and implement remediation plansWork on projects and process enhancements to ensure emerging risk is effectively mitigated in support of new and existing productsQualificationsMinimum of 6-8 years of related experience and at least a year of managerial experienceBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics.Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are a plusTalents Needed for Success:Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts in practical termsStrong analytical skills with the ability to clearly present to current and prospective members, regulators, and various departments within the organizationMeaningful work experience in managing financial risk within the financial services industryProven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams on projects; ability of working in a fast-paced, sophisticated environment Strong Excel skills; ability to code is not required but desirableExpertise in the U.S. and global financial markets, knowledge of risk management frameworks (VaR, Backtest, Stress test), current regulatory developments and issues affecting the industryAbility to build and manage diverse, impactful team on-site and remotelyThe salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
