Job description
Future Hardware Technology/Future Assembly Solutions is an electronic contract manufacturer of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, Cables, Harnesses Panel assemblies, Box Assemblies and full computer rack assemblies. We have ~40 employees between two buildings. We are currently AS9100D and ISO9000:2015 certified.
The candidate's primary objective is to help us manage day to day production employees and systems to insure timely completion of projects in support of customer orders. You will work with the engineering staff to direct them to employees who need assistance and verify that assistance is being provided.
The Manufacturing Supervisor will help maintain order in the manufacturing environment by assigning work to employees as required based on production schedules. In addition, the manufacturing supervisor will assist the production employee by ensuring that they have the materials, tools, and information to perform assigned tasks.
Simply, we are looking for someone who has a desire to come and learn what we do and help grow the business with in a supervisory position. This will entail having us teach you how we build low volume (1-40 pieces at a time) high mix (500+ different part numbers per month) assemblies for our customers. We will most likely start you out in an assembly role for 2-4 weeks so you can gain the perspective of the employees you will supervise before having you start the supervisory process.
Familiarity with IPC-610 (PCBA) and IPC-620 (Cable/Harness assembly) is a plus.
Primary Responsibilities and activities will be
Provide supervisory guidance for 14-20 employees
Champion perfect safety, perfect quality.
Drive operational metrics, turn time, on time delivery, past dues, productivity
Maintain levels of floor stock materials and consumables, communicate and escalate shortages and or out of stock items.
Shop floor presence, situational awareness, self-motivated, strategic problem solving, collaborative with functional teams. This is a walk the floor not a sit at a desk all day position.
Compliance with all regulatory requirements, quality systems manuals, department procedures.
Ensure production team is properly trained and adequately staffed
Providing supportive management to each team member, coach, develop and motivate, problem solve.
Work with customer service on updating operational time standards to ensure tasks are completed in a timely fashion
Complete and present performance reviews at 30, 60, 90 days and at 12 month intervals as necessary, development plans to acquire needed skills when appropriate.
Perform interviews to identify new employees and hire/fire as needed.
Enforce disciplinary actions as required.
Required Skills & Experience
3 years minimum in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
Associates degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or electrical engineering. 10 years of supervisor experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
Thought leader in process innovation and continuous improvement
Analytical problem solver who uses data analysis to make decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Time management and planning skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
US citizenship is required due to contractual obligations
