Project Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale mechanical construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer or construction professional who wants hands-on involvement with technically complex projects and a path toward Project Management.The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, vendors and clients throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical construction, process piping, HVAC, plumbing or industrial piping systems and be comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers and field leadership with day-to-day project executionCoordinate mechanical and piping systems from design and fabrication through field installationManage RFIs, submittals, drawings, specifications, as-builts and other project documentationAssist with project schedules, budgets, cost tracking and forecastingCoordinate material, equipment and fabrication requirements with vendors and suppliersReview drawings and specifications for constructability and potential conflictsWork directly with field personnel to resolve technical and coordination issuesCoordinate between engineering, fabrication, subcontractors and installation teamsParticipate in client, contractor and internal project meetingsTrack project progress, deliverables and upcoming milestonesAssist with change orders, procurement and project controlsSupport quality, safety and project compliance requirementsHelp drive projects through startup, execution and closeoutQualifications2+ years of Project Engineering, Assistant Project Management or related construction experience preferredExperience working for a mechanical contractor, piping contractor, plumbing contractor or industrial construction company strongly preferredExperience with one or more of the following:Process pipingMechanical pipingHVACPlumbingIndustrial pipingPipe fabricationLarge-bore pipingAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and construction documentsUnderstanding of RFIs, submittals, procurement and construction documentationStrong organizational, communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to coordinate effectively between office and field teamsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will also be consideredPreferred Project ExperienceCandidates with experience supporting technically complex projects are especially encouraged to apply, including:Data centers / mission-critical facilitiesSemiconductor or advanced manufacturingIndustrial manufacturing facilitiesProcess facilitiesLarge commercial mechanical projectsCentral utility or mechanical plantsIdeal CandidateThe ideal candidate is mechanically strong, field-oriented and looking to grow into Project Management.
