PMO Leader- Director levelLocation: Long Beach, CADepartment: Project Management Office (PMO)Reports To: VP of Project ExecutionDirect Reports: 4 Project ManagersPosition SummaryThe Director of Project Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the execution, governance, and performance of Biogas Engineering’s industrial plant construction project portfolio. Reporting directly to the VP of Project Execution, this position leads the Project Management Office (PMO) and manages a team of four Project Managers responsible for the successful delivery of EPC and industrial infrastructure projects across renewable energy and process plant environments.The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing complex industrial plant construction projects, including process facilities, energy infrastructure, EPC projects, or heavy industrial construction. This individual will drive project execution excellence, standardize PMO processes, mentor project leadership teams, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with strategic business objectives.This role requires a strong operational leader with expertise in construction execution, project controls, risk management, client relations, and cross-functional leadership in fast-paced industrial project environments.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Project Management Office (PMO), including direct oversight and development of four Project Managers responsible for industrial and EPC construction projectsProvide executive leadership across the full project lifecycle including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and turnoverEstablish and implement PMO standards, governance processes, project execution methodologies, and reporting structures to ensure consistency across the project portfolioOversee the successful execution of multiple concurrent industrial plant construction projects, ensuring alignment with schedule, budget, safety, quality, and client expectationsPartner with executive leadership to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and align execution strategies with company growth objectivesLead portfolio-level planning, forecasting, staffing, and resource management activities across all active projectsDevelop and maintain executive-level dashboards, KPIs, risk registers, governance logs, and portfolio performance reportingDrive accountability and performance management for project teams, including coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and leadership developmentSupport Project Managers in resolving complex construction, contractual, operational, and client-related challengesLead project governance activities including stage-gate reviews, risk assessments, change management reviews, and portfolio auditsEnsure effective implementation of project controls, cost tracking, schedule management, forecasting, and earned value management practicesCollaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, HSE, and finance teams to ensure integrated project deliveryParticipate in client meetings, executive reviews, contract negotiations, and strategic planning discussionsFoster a culture focused on safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, accountability, and high-performance project deliverySupport business development and preconstruction efforts by providing execution strategy input, staffing plans, budgeting guidance, and constructability expertiseTravel as necessary to project sites, client meetings, and company locations, including the ability to obtain a passport for international travelQualifications & ExperienceMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field12+ years of progressive project management and construction leadership experience7+ years of experience managing industrial plant construction, EPC, process facilities, renewable energy infrastructure, or heavy industrial projects5+ years of leadership experience managing project managers, PMO functions, or large-scale construction programsDemonstrated experience leading multiple concurrent industrial construction projects with significant capital budgetsStrong understanding of EPC project delivery, industrial construction sequencing, commissioning/startup, and owner-contractor coordinationProven experience with project controls, cost management, forecasting, scheduling, and resource planningAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, project schedules, and technical documentationExperience implementing PMO governance frameworks, reporting standards, and operational best practicesStrong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skillsAbility to lead cross-functional teams and effectively communicate with executives, clients, contractors, and field personnelProficiency with project management and construction software including Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft ProjectAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsPMP certification preferredExperience in renewable natural gas (RNG), biogas, wastewater, energy infrastructure, or process plant environments strongly preferredExperience working within EPC or design-build project environmentsFamiliarity with industrial safety standards, commissioning processes, and contractor management best practicesThe post PMO Lead appeared first on Bradsby Group.
