Cardiology Physician Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES Maintains orderly and timely flow of specimens to the technical departments to expedite the analysis of samples. Reviews lab requisitions from physicians for accuracy, completeness, medical necessity, and hospital s ability to perform test and/or route specimen for testing. Prepares specimens for analysis, including centrifuging, aliquoting, plating, etc. Performs registrations per hospital policy in order to provide assistance to patients and hospital personnel. May coordinates the loading of prepared patient samples on the automation lines to ensure timely sampling (where required by local laboratory needs). MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma/equivalent and Phlebotomy experience required. Prior clinical experience in a medical setting preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson s clinical entities or at the University.
