Supplier Quality Engineer

Position – Senior SQE – CastingLocation – Fond du lac, WINotes: Extensive experience supporting cast and machined components within a manufacturing and supplier quality engineering environment.Hands-on expertise across aluminum casting processes including sand casting, permanent mold, high‑pressure die casting, investment casting, and core-based castings, with strong understanding of process controls, defect modes, and metallurgical considerations.Proven capability in APQP and PPAP execution for new and existing cast components, including risk assessment, control plan validation, process audits, and supplier capability evaluations.Strong experience analyzing casting-related defects such as porosity, shrinkage, inclusions, misruns, dimensional variation, and surface finish issues, and driving effective root cause analysis and corrective actions (SCARs).Well-versed in machining operations supporting cast components, including CNC milling, turning, drilling, boring, and finishing processes. Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, validate machining tolerances, and evaluate process capability using SPC.Position Overview: The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer provides strategic and tactical support to Manufacturing by executing quality activities; such as: advanced quality planning to support High Performance Product Development (HPPD) process, Supplier development activities, Corrective Actions, and reporting to maintain and improve customer satisfaction, eliminate errors and improve efficiency. As a result, the Procurement Team depends on the Supplier Quality Engineer to be fully engaged with the global supply base to ensure that all direct purchased materials meet all performance specification requirements and do so over time to eliminate line downs, recalls, or other quality failures resulting in customer dissatisfaction.At Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver. Key Responsibilities:Tactical Supplier Quality:Independently, and in collaboration with assigned suppliers within the global supply base, process and execute quality activities. Maintain effective business communications/relationships with suppliers and internal customers to understand any quality impacts to production to proactively disseminate relevant information to all stakeholders and meet customer expectations and business requirements. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required7+ years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, quality engineering environmentThorough knowledge of blueprint analysis including GD&TSPC; data processing for critical featuresQuality concepts: basic quality tools and problem-solving techniquesCasting process and forging knowledgeExperience in or demonstrated knowledge of aluminum: sand, investment, high-pressure die cast, permanent molding, cores, etc.Machine shop experiencePreferred Qualifications:3+ years of experience in engine or engine component manufacturing or assembly highly preferredASQ certified Quality Manager, Engineer, or Auditor is preferredLean six sigma Green or Black Belt certification with project experience is preferred
