Electrical Engineer *

Overview In this role you will lead electrical design for data center and mission-critical projects within HDR’s TMT practice. You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver feasible designs, construction documents, and technical deliverables. You’ll drive client conversations, ensure code compliance, and provide design support through construction. This is a hands-on leadership role in an employee-owned culture that values collaboration and impact. ResponsibilitiesLead electrical design for data center/mission-critical projects from start to finishCoordinate with clients, project managers, architects, and other disciplinesDevelop feasibility reports, construction documents, specs, calculations; respond to RFIs; review shop drawings; support site investigations and construction administrationMentor and grow junior engineers, EITs, and BIM specialists; manage workload and ensure on-schedule deliveryLead design discussions in meetings and conduct sessions with PMs and architectsEnsure code compliance through reviews with governing agenciesProvide design support during construction including field observations and submittal reviewsTravel to job sites or HDR offices as needed Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisProfessional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng licenseExperience in electrical design of buildings (lighting, power, systems)Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy PowerProactive, collaborative, and capable of leading cross-functional teamsStrong communication and mentoring abilitiesMentoring and leadershipCross-functional collaborationClient communicationRevit MEPAutoCADSKM
