DescriptionInvent the future with us.Ampere is a semiconductor design company for a new era, leading the future of computing with an innovative approach to CPU design focused on high-performance, energy efficient AI compute.As a pioneer in the new frontier of energy efficient high-performance computing, Ampere is part of the Softbank Group of companies driving sustainable computing for AI, Cloud, and edge applications.Join us at Ampere and work alongside a passionate and growing team - we'd love to have you apply!About the role:Spearhead a dynamic and highly skilled team of engineers in the specification and design of datacenter and edge platforms thereby facilitating the use and development of Ampere Computing's products.What you'll achieve:Leading a global platform engineering team with multiple offices spread across North America and APACOversee ODM engagements for lead platforms from concept through DVTOffer critical input to CPU, edge, Embedded Architecture , Sales, and Product Management for next-generation design definition as well as customer engagementWork cohesively with ODMs to draft comprehensive SOW for development of datacenter and embedded platform hardware and softwareChief Architect in the development of Validation and CRB Platforms used internally for silicon validation, characterization, and SW development, and externally for customer design-in processResponsible for eliminating HW bugs and deliver platforms on time for the arrival of siliconManage teams to execute validation plans, schedules and overall system quality & reliabilityActively collaborate with multiple contract manufacturing companies globallyEngineering team liaison for clarifications related to ODM and customer requirementsManaging budgets for hardware team as well as ODM engagementsAbout you:Minimum of 10 years' experience directing managers and highly technical subject matter experts, as well as growing and developing high performing teamsMinimum of 12 years' experience with datacenter, edge, embedded , and system architecture development across multiple full product life cycles, from concept to HVM mass productionMinimum of 5 years' experience in embedded board designs and bring-up for high-speed interfaces such as LPDDR/PCIE/GbE/USB/SERDESExperience leading Customer/ODM/CM product developments from definition through manufacturing releaseHands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and root cause failure analysisFamiliarity with Electromagnetic Compliance (EMI/EMC)Strong understanding of:Analog and digital circuit theory and principlesEdge or embedded computing modulesGeneral CPU/SoC architectureMulticore processor environmentPlatform design experience with PCI express standardPlatform design experience with JEDEC standard for DDR/LPDDR memoryElectrical simulation tools and modelsPerformance modeling and analysisBS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/Computer Science or similar disciplineWhat we'll offer:At Ampere we believe in taking care of our employees and providing a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, cash long-term incentive, and comprehensive benefits.
