Position Overview:The Operations Training Instructor delivers training to all plant employees. This position develops and distributes training materials as well as designs, delivers, and evaluates the effectiveness of courses and materials. This position reports directly to the Director Lab and Quality.Critical Factors for Success:Design, monitor, and identify improvement opportunities in the site master training plan to ensure quality training of new and existing employees.Evaluate the quality and content of training courses and provide feedback as appropriate to provide the best quality training to employees.Conduct needs assessments and develop training content alongside subject matter experts (SME) to ensure employees have all the information they need to safely and knowledgeably perform their jobs. Responsibilities:Develop and deliver training on operational procedures, safety requirements and responsibilities, quality processes, and environmental standards and procedures utilizing the Intelex systemDeliver new hire orientation and new hire plant operator trainingBuild and support a network of operational trainers; organize "Train the Trainer" sessions, provide direction on training needs, and continue to coach and develop themMonitor and maintain accurate training records, interpret training metrics and follow up on metrics findings/actionsContribute to the training strategy and the development of specialized training development plans to operations leadership and training teamPrepare and deliver training materials, job aids, presentations, CBT (computer based training), etc. in multiple media forumsPlan training courses and collaborate with external vendors on customized training programsConduct post-training evaluation to identify successes and improvement opportunitiesPrepare, deliver, and support auditsOther duties and special projects as assigned by managementRequirements:High School Diploma or GED minimally required plus at least 3 years’ experience with the development and delivery of training to industrial front-line workforce in manufacturing setting OR Associate’s Degree in Communication, Training, Education, HR, Instructional Design, or related field from accredited CollegePrevious work experience with supporting or facilitating various training delivery methods including classroom, virtual classroom, and eLearningPrevious experience as user or administrator of Learning Management SystemDemonstrated ability to conduct training needs and gap analysisTechnical proficiency with MS Office Suite including Outlook, PowerPoint, and WordExcellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsCompelling presence and effective public speaking skills to large groups in both classroom and field settingsFlexibility in scheduling to accommodate training support for a 24-7 workforceAbility and willingness to spend time within hot, hazardous plant environment while wearing protective equipment with or without reasonable accommodationAbility and willingness to wear respirator directly against skin with or without reasonable accommodation Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Training, Education, HR, Instructional Design, or related field from accredited College or University preferred, but not requiredPrevious work experience using Quality Management Software (like Intelex) preferred, but not requiredPrevious experience with video editing preferred, but not requiredCompensation Information:Salary Range: $76,600 to $122,400. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives.
