This role plays a critical part in supporting the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and managing Accounts Payable (AP) operations.The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience working in project-based environments, and familiarity with VistaPoint ERP (or similar project-based accounting systems).Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-End Close & Financial ReportingLead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and allocationsReconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completenessAnalyze financial results and investigate variances vs. budget/forecastAssist in preparing internal financial statements and management reportsAccounts Payable (AP) OversightOversee full-cycle accounts payable processing, including invoice entry, approvals, and paymentsEnsure proper coding of invoices to projects, cost centers, and GL accountsManage vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerMaintain strong internal controls around AP processesSystems & Process ImprovementUtilize VistaPoint ERP (or similar system) for financial management and reportingIdentify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, automation, and controlsAssist with system upgrades, implementations, or process enhancementsAudit & ComplianceSupport external audits by preparing schedules and documentationEnsure compliance with GAAP and company policiesMaintain organized and audit-ready financial recordsQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in engineering, construction, or project-based industriesStrong understanding of month-end close processes and general accounting principlesHands-on experience with Accounts Payable processingAdvanced proficiency in ExcelPreferredExperience with VistaPoint ERP (highly preferred) or similar systems (e.g., Deltek, Viewpoint, Sage)Experience in transportation, infrastructure, or electrical design/engineering environmentsCPA or CPA-track is a plusFamiliarity with job costing and project accounting a plus
