Registered Nurse- Specialty Clinic/Infusion Clinic

In the specialty outpatient clinics as a Staff Nurse on this unit, you would perform patient care activities, including, but not limited to: patient/staff education, clinical management, patient care support, shared administrative duties, and provide complete coordination with registration and pharmacy to ensure timely and safe administration of medications of the Infusion Patient. Leadership, self-motivation, and ability to work independently are key components of the role.Duties include but are not limited to:The Intravenous Therapy Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks consistent with the nurse's obligation to provide optimal care. The focus is on individual growth and development in practice with increased levels of self-direction. This nurse has advanced knowledge and skills in assessing, inserting, caring for, and managing vascular access devices, including peripheral intravenous catheters (PIV), midlines, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC). They have the advanced knowledge to maintain Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD). Ability to formulate a plan of care based on nursing assessments. Seeks guidance on how to improve care provided to patients and families. Delegates elements of care to the appropriate individual based upon assessed needs, condition, and safety of the patient. The nurse brings principles and theory with limited application of critical thinking skills.Responsible for participating in activities supporting nursing excellence, quality improvement, and unit-based and/or organizational-level Shared Governance councils.
