Description:JOB TITLE: Azure Cloud EngineerEMPLOYER: Karpel SolutionsDEPARTMENT: ITREPORTS TO: IT ManagerWORK LOCATION: Hybrid (St. Louis, MO)SUMMARY: Karpel Solutions is seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer to help design, support, and troubleshoot Azure cloud solutions for our company’s software applications. Cloud Engineers will work in a self-motivated team to advise on modern cloud infrastructure solutions to support the company’s SaaS product. Engineers will also partner closely with Karpel’s internal IT team as needed to support in-house system issues and improve the company’s overall network. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in IT; work well under pressure; are eager to learn and grow; and excel in a dynamic, changing, supportive environment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Researches, evaluates, and recommends modern cloud infrastructure design improvements to ensure architecture is stable, performant, secure, and cost-effectiveAutomates routine tasks using Infrastructure-as-Code deploymentsServers as Tier 3 escalation for Windows Server and other cloud-related service issuesCollaborates with support, application, and operation teams to align contributions with larger company initiativesMonitors resource stability & proactively corrects performance issues when they ariseEnforces infrastructure best practices as outlined in the Azure Well-Architected FrameworkSupports and enforces Microsoft 365 security policies and best practices, such as MFA and Conditional AccessPerforms system administration tasks, including patching and configuration managementConfigures, monitors, and validates regular system backups to ensure data integrity and recovery capabilitiesCollaborates with other IT professionals and vendors to ensure seamless integration of systems and servicesParticipates in ongoing training and attainment of manufacturer certifications to further develop technical skillsDevelops and maintains relationships with customers that further develop our company’s positive reputation through exceptional customer servicesUtilizes effective soft skills to work effectively both individually and among the overall IT teamOther duties as assigned by the IT ManagerRequirements:QUALIFICATIONS:Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience4-7 years of IT experience, with at least two years as a System Engineer/Cloud EngineerExperience with managing cloud infrastructure platforms (preferably Azure)Expert knowledge of Windows Server OS, especially Virtual Machines, IIS, and SQL serversStrong knowledge of server maintenance, including cloud-native or third-party backup solutions and OS updates managementStrong knowledge of Active Directory Domain Service and GPO managementIntermediate to strong knowledge of best practices for cloud-native resources, including but not limited to blob storage, app services, PaaS SQL servers, load balancers/application gateways/Azure Front Door, Key Vault, AI Foundry, and related servicesSome degree of PowerShell proficiencyAt least 3 years of experience in supporting Microsoft 365 administration and servicesAt least 3 years of experience in supporting Windows OS desktops and laptopsExcellent communication skills with a customer service orientation and an ability to work well with all levels of the organizationAble to demonstrate professionalism and empathetic behavior in the resolution of both routine and complex customer problemsManage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced, highly technical environmentHighly self-motivated and organizedKeen attention to detailExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsRelevant technical certifications are a plusDESIRED CERTIFICATIONS:Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or AWS Certified Cloud PractitionerMicrosoft Azure Administrator AssociateMicrosoft 365 FundamentalsCompTIA: A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, Cloud+
