The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight, development, and implementation of academic goals, programs, and educational policies. This role involves providing leadership in all academic matters, advocating for faculty and students, and promoting a collegial atmosphere that encourages shared governance, academic freedom, and innovation. The Provost and VPAA will also be involved in budget preparation, strategic planning, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of all academic programs. Candidates for this position should have an earned doctorate degree, senior-level experience in academic administration, and a strong background in higher education regional accreditation. Essential duties include a commitment to academic excellence, program review, and policy development, as well as the ability to lead the development of new approaches to innovation in education. The role requires a leader with high personal integrity, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships and difficult situations with advanced skills.
