Advanced Radiology Technical Assistant - BLS CertifiedMicro, NC $32,099 - $42,099 a yearJob Type: Full TimeThe Radiology Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, smooth, and efficient delivery of diagnostic imaging services to patients of all ages. Collaborating closely with the radiology team, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting with patient transport, clerical duties, and supply management.Key ResponsibilitiesUtilize TEAM principles (Teamwork, Empathy, Accountability, Messaging) when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.Identify opportunities to enhance patient experience and participate in service improvement initiatives.Perform patient identification using two identifiers and verify with wristbands.Provide basic education to patients about examinations and refer questions appropriately to reduce anxiety.Assist with patient transfers and positioning following no-lift protocols.Prepare procedure rooms between cases and perform end-of-day cleaning tasks.Handle clerical duties including document collection and data generation for procedures.Support electronic image management, including importing and sharing images.Assist with communication between radiologists, providers, and technologists as needed.Restock procedure rooms and supply carts, manage waste disposal, and maintain emergency supplies inventory.Report defective equipment and maintain ongoing competency in role functions.Education and TrainingHigh school diploma or equivalent is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.ExperienceNo prior work experience is required; however, excellent guest relations and communication skills are essential.Skills and AbilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to read and understand English.Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.Ability to work variable shifts with physical demands including standing, walking, bending, and lifting.Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation.Willingness to work in environments with potential exposure to blood and body fluids.This position serves a diverse regional community in the Southeastern United States, providing compassionate and patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare environment.
