The team is seeking a highly detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the accounting and financial operations of its growing real estate investment and property management business.This role will work closely with management, property managers, and maintenance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, rent tracking, vendor payments, tenant account management, and day-to-day bookkeeping operations across multiple properties.Key ResponsibilitiesManage bookkeeping and accounting functions for rental property management and real estate investment operationsTrack and reconcile all incoming revenue, including rental income, parking fees, utilities, consulting fees, and other receivablesCharge back and allocate utility expenses to tenants, including utility split calculationsProcess accounts payable for utilities, contractors, vendors, suppliers, property taxes, insurance, and banking-related expensesMaintain tenant move-in and move-out ledgers with accuracy and consistencyMonitor overdue balances, collections, delinquent payments, and unpaid tenant accountsAssist with rent collection follow-ups and utility billing communicationsIssue notices related to late payments and evictions when requiredProcess employee timesheets and expense reimbursementsMaintain administrative accounting documentation including W-9 and W-4 formsPrepare financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and budgeting documentationSupport additional accounting and real estate administrative tasks assigned by managementWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related fieldMinimum 3 years of post-graduate bookkeeping or accounting experienceMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience using AppFolio property management softwareMinimum 3 years of experience working within:Real estate property management companies, ORReal estate investment firmsMinimum 3 years of experience working remotely as a Virtual BookkeeperStrong understanding of property management accounting workflows and tenant ledger managementAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PDF editing toolsExcellent attention to detail with strong accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliationsStrong English communication skills, both written and verbalReliable internet connection, computer hardware, and headset for virtual collaborationAvailability to work full-time during U.S. Pacific Time business hoursFlexibility to occasionally support evening or weekend tasks when neededBonus If You HaveSpanish language skillsFamiliarity with AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or DeepSeekExperience supporting high-volume property management operationsWhy Join UsLong-term remote opportunity with a growing real estate investment and property management companyStable full-time schedule aligned with U.S. business hoursCollaborative and supportive remote work environmentOpportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of residential, retail, office, and hospitality assetsGrowth potential within a fast-paced real estate organization
