Lead Warehouse Associate The Lead Warehouse Associate assists the Warehouse Operations Manager in the successful operation of the warehouse by coordinating daily warehouse activities and providing leadership to warehouse personnel. This hands-on role is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of products while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures. The Lead Warehouse Associate serves as a working supervisor, leading by example and supporting the overall productivity and effectiveness of warehouse operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Warehouse Operations Manager in the daily operation and organization of warehouse activities. Provide leadership, direction, and support to warehouse associates to ensure operational efficiency and productivity. Supervise and participate in unloading trucks and receiving incoming product shipments. Verify received product quantities and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage. Safely store and organize products in designated warehouse locations. Pull products accurately to fulfill transfer orders and customer requests. Load pallets and prepare shipments for outgoing transfers. Ensure products are properly secured by safely stacking, wrapping, and shrink-wrapping pallets for storage and transportation. Maintain warehouse sanitation, cleanliness, and organization to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy with a goal of no less than 95% accuracy. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner. Monitor warehouse operations to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Train and mentor warehouse associates on proper warehouse procedures, equipment operation, safety protocols, and company expectations. Assist with scheduling workflow and assigning daily tasks to warehouse personnel. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Ensure compliance with all company safety, security, and loss prevention policies. Report operational issues, equipment concerns, and inventory variances to management. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse productivity and efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse, distribution, inventory control, or logistics experience. Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience required. Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment preferred. Experience with inventory management systems and warehouse management software preferred. Required Skills and Abilities Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Thorough understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and product handling procedures. Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and achieve inventory accuracy goals. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions. Working knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and best practices. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and warehouse management systems. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery. Work Environment This position operates in a warehouse environment and requires regular interaction with warehouse personnel, delivery drivers, and management.
