You will report to the Processing Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA. To be considered, here's what you'll need to bring with you: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent 1 year or more of industry sandblasting experience. Read blueprints and operation sheets for specific tasks. Experience with a computer for email, internet, and other basic tasks. Experience with operating a sandblasting or shot-peen machine to accomplish desired metal surface finish. Knowledgeable to select appropriate media for the job, as well as set-up machine and determine proper cycle times. Experience with multiple metals and finishes (aluminum, stainless steel, copper and cad plated surfaces). This position require access to export controlled information. FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirementsHere's what you’ll be working on: Sandblasting of various metals to achieve a desired surface finish to support special processing (chemical plating, paint, and/or heat treatment). Package parts from the wet process area and sand blasts parts prior to plating or heat treatment. Ensure care is taken to prevent damage to part and sufficiently inspects parts prior to packaging for damage, contamination, etc. Interpret blueprints, work instructions, both written and verbal instructions, to determine or follow the most effective procedures for packaging various products. Perform bench and machine operations to clean, polish, break edges, form radii, blend defects, remove contamination, remove excess material, remove flash, remove nodules and detect unusual defects in material or workmanship. Use hand tools, hand scrapers, small sand stones, small power tools, abrasive blast, belt sanders, and buffing wheels. Parts are held in the hand or in simple fixtures. May operate bench grinders, polishers and other bench machinery. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
